Wow! It’s been a decade since the start of this camp – what a journey it has been! Go Palestine has truly been a life-altering experience for everyone that has been a part of it. We cannot wait for our 2020 campers to join us in June.

Let’s Reflect

As we celebrate our 10 year anniversary, we cannot help but reflect on how far we’ve come as a camp. In the last 10 years, our campers and staff have come from 17 countries around the world.

A Letter from Go Palestine’s Founding Director

Dear Friends,

I hope this finds you all in the best of spirits. As the founding director of Go Palestine, it warms my heart that we are celebrating our 10th year of camp! This is also particularly meaningful for me as a Palestinian Quaker and as a Ramallah Friends School alum. I am deeply proud of all the staff and campers who have made our camp such a tremendous success. Our reputation is so enduring that we have attracted campers from literally across the world. Words cannot express my appreciation for all the families and supporters of Go Palestine who have helped us get to this point. There is little more magical than watching Palestinian diaspora youth connect with their ancestral homeland. Palestine deserves our love and solidarity. Thank you all for your continued support of Go Palestine and the Ramallah Friends School.

Warmest regards,

Dr. Sa’ed Atshan

A Letter from the Director

Friends,

I can’t believe it’s been almost a decade since I was a camper at Go Palestine. Over the last 10 years, many things have changed in my life, but perhaps one of the few constants has been the effect this camp has had on me and hundreds of other campers around the world. To this day I am still in contact with many of my fellow campers, as well as campers and counselors I intersected with as a counselor. It is especially heartwarming to see how many alumni want to return as counselors: a testimony to how life-changing this camp has been for all of us. As I serve my first year as the camp’s director and look forward to the next decade(s), it is important to thank the visionaries who have made this camp possible and successful over the years: Dr. Sa’ed Atshan, Joyce Ajlouny, Biff Houldin, Ted First, and Adrian Moody. Additionally, our camp would not be where it is today if it were not for the hard work and dedication of directors over the past years including Haneen Sakakini, Nisreen Shahin, and Suzi Hamdan. Lastly, I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our hardworking counselors and staff, and the broader Go Palestine community. Giving diaspora Palestinian youth the opportunity to visit and connect with their homeland is the mission of our camp, and we look forward to expanding and developing our program to serve this mission in the year and decade to come.

Sincerely,

Walid Musarsa

Any amount will further our mission in reconnecting Palestinians to their homeland by supporting scholarships to diaspora campers who are constrained from visiting Palestine due to financial reasons.
