Jerusalem, Akka, and Haifa

We had one day to see it all, and see it all we did! Today, we covered Jeusalem, Akko, and Haifa. We started off with Jerusalem.  We got ka’ek for breakfast, and ate it as we walked through Damascus gate and into the old city. We made our way to Al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. We then walked in the old city of Jerusalem, making the Church of the Holy Sepulchre are next stop. Later on, we went to Mount of Olives where campers got to see beautiful panoramic views.

Our next stop was Akka, or “The Bride of the Sea” as it’s known in the Palestinian culture. We walked around the beautiful city, which still preserves it’s old landscapes. We had fish for lunch at a seaside restaurant. We then did some more walking around the city with our tour guide. Our last stop in Akko was the beach, where campers got to dip into the Mediterranean –  something many of them had never done before.
Our trip to Haifa was quite brief. Campers got to see the Baha’i Gardens, and then walked around the city at night. We then grabbed some shawarma to go and hopped back on the bus to go back to Ramallah.
