☀️Day 7️⃣: On Campus

Yesterday was an on-campus day. The day started with small and big group reflections about our trip to Jerusalem and cultural diversity. Afterwards, Mirna Bamieh, chef, food anthropologist, and founder & director of Palestine Hosting society gave a presentation about Palestine’s cuisine and its importance. Then the campers split into 3 groups which will rotate between 3 activities: cooking with Mirna, Dabkeh with Samer Karajeh from the Funoon troupe, and sports on campus. We concluded the day session of camp with free bonding time and the chance to work on films🎥. We also celebrated two birthdays🎉. Lunch for those who did not participate in the cooking session was incredibly late which was frustrating but the Italian food that was ordered arrived just before campers left for their break. When we returned, we discussed with campers the importance of respecting rules, guidelines, and spaces/property. Staff also led a discussion about Zionism and the role Christian Zionism played in catapulting Jewish Zionism into existence. We concluded the day with a film crew huddle🎬.
