Day 1: Off to a Flying Start π
Yesterday was buzzing with excitement! The campers gathered for the first time, filling the campus with the sounds of laughter and eager chatter. The day began with each group meeting their counselors and group members. Fun name games and ice breakers kicked off the day, with everyone working hard to remember names and fun facts!
The afternoon was dedicated to more personal discussions . Our campers shared their hopes for Go Palestine, which helped us set rules and expectations for how we plan to interact and respect each other over the next 3 weeks. This was followed by a delicious Maqloubeh lunch. Finally, we concluded the day session with leading psychosocial expert, Dr. Laila Atshan, who joined us for a powerful community building session.
After a refreshing 2-hour break , we all returned to campus for deeper reflections about the purpose of the camp and what they hope to gain from it. Campers also continued with our camp traditions, where each camper wrote a letter to themselves which they will receive at the end of camp.
