Day 10: Sunrise Hike!

Today was an early start as we set out to witness the beautiful sunrise over the Dead Sea. We gathered on campus at 2:05 AM and boarded the bus east to the Jordan Valley, arriving at Nabi Musa. From there, we hiked towards the Dead Sea Overlook area, a lookout at the edge of the final mountain before the Jordan Valley. On the way we got to see a pack of wild camels! We arrived in time to witness the beautiful sunrise over the Dead Sea. After the sunrise, we descended the mountain to the road at the shore, where we got back on the bus and drove to Jericho for some savory pastries before we headed to the Dead Sea. At the beach, campers were able to swim and enjoy the saltiest body of water in the world and the lowest point on earth. Many coverer with Dead Sea mud and floated in the Sea, however, it was starting to get really hot so we had to leave for Ramallah. Today we were able to witness the natural beauty of Palestine and the unique geography and terrains the country is blessed with.
